BIG Live's ballet Dracula is coming back to London for a fortnight at the Adelphi Theatre, from 16-31 January 2027, after a year that took it from Sadler's Wells to San Francisco, Singapore and Australia.
Dracula returns to London in the new year. BIG Live's ballet runs at the Adelphi Theatre on the Strand from Saturday 16 January to Sunday 31 January 2027, a strictly limited stay of 14 performances.
It is the production's second London visit in under a year. It ran at Sadler's Wells from 24 May to 7 June 2026, then moved on to the Festival Theatre in Edinburgh, the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco and the Esplanade in Singapore, followed by dates in Brisbane and Sydney. That 2026 tour came on the back of a sell-out run around Australia and New Zealand in 2025, and the company is currently at Her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne until 25 October, with the Capitol Theatre in Sydney to follow from 7-29 November.
Artistic director Joel Burke choreographs. The score is led by Emmy Award-winning composer Jason Fernandez, with Toby Alexander also credited as composer, and it threads in music by Debussy, Liszt, Saint-Saëns and Mussorgsky, among others. Martin Thomas designs the set and Verity Hampson the lighting, and the company includes alumni of the Mariinsky, English National Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet and the Australian Ballet.
The story opens in the 1600s. The warrior Vlad turns his back on his faith when he learns that the wife he adores has been condemned and put to death, and he becomes Dracula, Lord of the Vampires. Two hundred years later, the newly married Jonathan and Mina travel to Transylvania and into his castle, where Mina bears a striking likeness to the woman he lost.
Tickets for Dracula at the Adelphi start at £28 and are on sale now. The evening runs for around 2 hours 10 minutes including an interval, and BIG Live recommends it for ages 13 and over.
