Dracula description
Dracula tells the story of the famous vampire through dance, as BIG Live's ballet production comes to the Adelphi Theatre.
The ballet opens in the 1600s with Vlad, a warrior who turns his back on his faith when he learns that the wife he loves has been condemned and put to death. His grief transforms him into Dracula, Lord of the Vampires. The story then moves forward two hundred years, as the newly married Jonathan and Mina journey to Transylvania and find themselves inside the Count's castle, where Mina looks remarkably like the woman Dracula lost. What follows is a tale of forbidden love, immortality and sacrifice.
The production returns to London after sold-out seasons during 2026 in London's West End, San Francisco, Singapore, Australia and elsewhere. The staging combines the choreography with a dramatic score and full production design, and the performance lasts approximately 2 hours 10 minutes, including an interval.
The choreography is by Joel Burke. The score is led by Emmy Award-winning composer Jason Fernandez and draws on well-known works by Claude Debussy, Franz Liszt, Camille Saint-Saëns and Modest Mussorgsky. The production is presented by BIG Live.
