The Outsiders Musical description

An extraordinary story and a coming of age classic, you'll adore The Outsiders Musical.

The Outsiders Musical is based on the wonderful 1967 book by S. E Hinton. A powerful heartbreaker based on her own childhood experiences, it resonates just as strongly today.

The plot follows a group of troubled young men in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. Ponyboy Curtis, who is fourteen, lives with his older brothers Darrel and Sodapop. They're all members of the Greasers gang, a group of poor, rejected adolescents disliked by society but always loyal to each other. When a battle with their rich rivals, the Socs gang, leads to tragedy, Ponyboy and his best mate Johnny are forced to go on the run. Is this really what they want out of life?

Themes of friendship and changing your fate made the 1983 cult classic movie by Francis Ford Coppola, starring Tom Cruise and Patrick Swayze, a legend in its own right. The Broadway musical premiered during 2024. Now it's making its way to the capital to thrill audiences over here. Laughter and tears are the name of the game as you meet a cast of characters who'll touch your heart, all set to an outstanding original soundtrack that conjures up 1960s middle America beautifully.

A book by Adam Rapp with Justin Levine, music and lyrics by Jamestown Revival (Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance) and Justin Levine, and a gorgeous story exploring friendship, family, belonging, and the fact that there's still lots of good left in the world make it a delight to experience.

The Outsiders Musical tickets take you to an extraordinary story that won't just break your heart; it'll also mend it.
