The Lost Boys producer Patrick Wilson says his four Tony Award-winning blockbuster of a Broadway musical masterpiece is on its way to London. On Broadway Ali Louis Bourzgui, who played the vampire leader David, and Shoshana Bean who played Michael's mum Lucy, both won Tony awards, and the show also won Tonys for the lighting design and scenic design. 

The plot is based on the beloved 1987 movie about the Emersons, a mum and her two teenage sons, Michael and Sam, who move to a new home on the coast only to find themselves entangled with vampires. This big, bold extravaganza of a musical follows the older son Michael as, keen to find a social life of his own, he's irresistibly drawn to a band of glam-rock vampires. Where do his loyalties lie? 

The book is by David Hornsby and Chris Hoch, and the score comes from The Rescues. Michael Arden (Maybe Happy Ending, Parade), the winner of two Tony awards, directs, and there's choreography and aerial choreography from Lauren Yalango-Grant and Christopher Cree Grant. 

An impossible-to-resist pop-rock beat, a wicked sense of humour and a dark plot lead the way to make it a show to get your teeth into. It bites!

Written by James Graham (Punch, Dear England, Labour of Love), the production is directed by Sir Nicholas Hytner (The History Boys and The Madness of King George, One Man, Two Guvnors and Giant). The cast is looking equally impressive, with Olivier Award-winning Rory Kinnear (Mary Stuart, Hamlet) as John Maynard Keynes himself and Keynes' wife Lydia played by Royal Ballet Principal Natalia Osipova, on her West End debut. And there's set design by Bob Crowle, another plus point. An inspiring story about a remarkable human being, the show's in town for a strictly limited season so grab tickets while you can.
