Something Rotten!

Something Rotten!

London Theatre to be announced

Something Rotten! description

Laugh yourself silly with the family favourite musical Something Rotten.

The long-awaited follow-on from 2023's acclaimed award-winning concert is in town. Buckle up and prepare for a brilliant West End musical experience with Something Rotten, in the capital over summer for its London premier. Ten Tony nominations including Best New Musical make it special, a show that has already delighted audiences in the USA. A hilarious combination of Shakespeare and contemporary musicals, it blends catchy music with big dance routines and a fabulous plot to create a tribute to the theatre the whole family can enjoy.

Roll back time to the 1595 where two brothers, Nick and Nigel Bottom, are trying to write a hit play of their own. But life isn't easy when the ridiculously popular Will Shakespeare's work rules the stage. Then along comes a soothsayer with shocking predictions for the future of theatre: strange 'musical' plays where people act, sing and dance, all at the same time. So Nick and Nigel get busy writing the world's first ever musical and the rest, as they say, is history.

Jason Manford plays Nick Bottom with Cassius Hackforth as Nigel Bottom and Richard Fleeshman as Shakespeare. Marisha Wallace plays Bea, Cory English plays Nostradamus and Carla Dixon-Hernandez plays Portia. We also have Gareth Davies as Shylock, Chad Saint Louis as Troubadour, Paul Ryan as Brother Jeremiah and Elliotte Williams-N'Dure as Lady C, along with a load more. It's a huge cast!

We have the same award-winning creative combination behind Mrs. Doubtfire: The Musical: The Grammy winning songwriter Wayne Kirkpatrick whose gorgeous music helped make Change the World and Every Heartbeat so special. The screenwriter Karey Kirkpatrick who gave us Chicken Run, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and the family classic James and the Giant Peach. And there's the best-selling author and comedy writer John O'Farrell on board, of Spitting Image, Have I Got News for You and Just For One Day fame. Direction comes from Tim Jackson (Merrily We Roll Along and Two Strangers Carry a Cake Across New York) and the fun is produced by the Tony winning Broadway and West End legends Kevin McCollum of Alchemation, and JAS Theatricals.

It's set to be incredibly popular. Buy tickets to Something Rotten for a load of big West End fun, a dazzling spectacle of song, dance and hysterical history.
