Sherlock Holmes description

Whodunnit? Find out in a brand new Sherlock Holmes story at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre.

Everyone adores a twisty-turny plot, and Sherlock Holmes always delivers the goods. There's a brand new Holmes mystery in the capital with the brilliant Joshua James (Black Mirror, Andor) starring as Britain's best-loved fictional detective. But this isn't Holmes as we know him. It's a bold new take on the iconic role that was first played by Clive Brook in 1929 on the radio, and has since been portrayed by Basil Rathbone, Peter Cushing, Nigel Bruce, Ed Hawkins, Dave Hearn, Humphrey Ker, and countless others on the stage, TV, and the big screen.

Expect an unusually atmospheric open-air production as Arthur Conan Doyle's legendary detective reveals a fast and furious adventure set in Victorian London. The plot comes from Joel Horwood (The Ocean at the End of the Lane) and the drama is directed by Sean Holmes (Pinocchio, The Merry Wives of Windsor), a plot packed with suspense, intrigue, and theatrical magic.

The place is London, the year is 1890, and the capital is growing so fast it's hard to keep up. Arriving fresh from solving his first big case, Holmes is all at sea until a mysterious lady carrying a fabulous jewel arrives at 221B Baker Street. Lives are at stake, leaving Holmes and his faithful sidekick Watson racing to reveal the truth. Will they resolve this beastly conspiracy before it's too late?

The show's Composer is Jherek Bischoff. The Set and Co-Costume Designer is Grace Smart, and the Lighting Designer is Ryan Day. Charlotte Broom is the Movement Director. Sound Designer Elena Peña and Casting Director Stuart Burt CDG, CSA are on board, and the production comes from Regent's Park Open Air Theatre with special permission from the Estate of Conan Doyle.

Will he solve it? Grab your Sherlock Holmes tickets early to witness a fast-paced drama that'll keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
