Mother Goose description

Mother Goose – Dazzling new festive panto

Ambassador Theatre Group Productions is delighted to introduce the UK and Ireland tour of Mother Goose. The show lands in the West End’s Duke of York's Theatre from 15th December 2022 to 29th January 2023, a treat for the entire family.

The anticipation is mounting for a festive treat with a difference. This is Mother Goose, but not as we know it. The old tale has been given masses of cool new twists thanks to the talented Jonathan Harvey, who made the nation laugh out loud with TV’s Gimme Gimme Gimme and also writes for Coronation Street. He’s joined by Britain’s funniest director Cal McCrystal. What a team.

So who stars? Check this out. Ian McKellen, John Bishop and Mel Giedroyc star as Mother Goose, her husband, and the Goose itself. All three of the main stars have had remarkable careers on TV and on stage. Between them they’ve played varied roles in everything from Shakespeare plays to TV chat shows and quizzes, national comedy show tours, and even Strictly. Three household names await you in a panto you’ll remember with the family for years to come.

What's the story behind Mother Goose?

Mr and Mrs Goose run an animal sanctuary. They live inside an old Debenhams store. Life is quiet and wholesome until a goose turns up to disrupt everything. How will the Gooses handle fame and fortune? This is panto at its most eccentric, a delightful romp designed to ruffle your feathers and make your sense of humour take off.
