Don Black's From the Heart description
Enjoy a gorgeous musical journey through laughter and tears with Don Black's From The Heart.
This is the premiere of the Oscar-winning lyricist Don Black's brilliant new West End revue, Don Black's From The Heart, on stage at the Fortune Theatre.
Donald Blackstone, known professionally as Don Black, is an English lyricist whose words have added magic and sparkle to numerous musicals, films and TV shows. His songs have soared high in the charts thanks to stars like Quincy Jones, Lulu, Henry Mancini, Meat Loaf, Michael Jackson, Robbie Williams and Ennio Morricone to name just a few.
Don adores New York's off-Broadway revues, and this show is all about the glitz, with gorgeous music from some of the best-loved people he has worked with, including Gary Barlow, Natasha Bedingfield, and David Arnold. Over a fifty year career Don has created everything from dazzling West End musical numbers and power ballads to a total of five James Bond themes. He wrote the Oscar-winning song Born Free, and lyrics for Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard and Aspects of Love.
This celebratory masterpiece stars 2024's Britain's Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas, Preeya Kalidas (Bend It Like Beckham), and West End darling Clive Rowe, who delighted us in Sister Act and Guys and Dolls. The Lyrics are, of course, by Don Black. The show is directed by Nick Winston, and the Musical Direction and Arrangements are by Nick Barstow.
Lose yourself in the magic of one of the UK's most prolific, best-loved lyricists with Don Black's From The Heart.
