Musical comedy Under the Influence transfers to the King's Head Theatre

Under the Influence, the new musical comedy by The Gilbert Twins and Shona Maule, transfers from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to the King's Head Theatre from 8 to 26 September 2026.
Speakerphone Productions has announced that the original musical comedy Under the Influence, by The Gilbert Twins and Shona Maule, will transfer to the King's Head Theatre in London following its critically acclaimed run at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The musical runs from 8 to 26 September 2026, with a press night on Friday 11 September.
After becoming a viral sensation, identical twins Carine and Frances land in couples therapy as the world's most co-dependent non-couple. The session erupts into a hilarious reckoning with the chaos of sisterhood, online pressure and the search for your own voice.
Best known as @thegilberttwins to their three million-plus followers online, Carine and Frances Gilbert return to their musical theatre roots with an original score co-written by Shona Maule. The show is based on their own real experience of doing couples therapy together, and is loud, ridiculous and unexpectedly heartfelt.
The twins said: "After a sold-out London preview and an overwhelming response in Edinburgh so far, we couldn't be more excited to be bringing the show to the King's Head Theatre. Our show shares a side of ourselves and of twinhood that people don't get to see online, but at its core our story is universal. We poured our hearts into this piece and we can't wait to share it with audiences in London."
Canadian-British identical twins, comedians, writers and content creators, Carine and Frances Gilbert are trained musical theatre performers with degrees from the Guildford School of Acting, and transitioned from stage to screen during the pandemic, creating comedy sketches inspired by the shared absurdities of friendships, families and everyday life. They have written, produced and performed in more than 550 original sketches in the past five years, amassing more than 210 million yearly views.
Under the Influence is directed by Georgie Rankcom, with book and lyrics by Carine Gilbert and Frances Gilbert, lyrics, composition and musical direction by Shona Maule, lighting design by Tom Turner and Michelle Payne as associate director. The production is produced by Speakerphone Productions, and tickets are on sale now.
