Tom Blyth makes his Broadway debut as A Few Good Men opens in New York

Photo by Emilio Madrid English actor Tom Blyth opens on Broadway tonight as Daniel Kaffee in A Few Good Men, the first Broadway revival of Aaron Sorkin's military courtroom drama, and the first production photos have been released ahead of the performance.

Tom Blyth, who played the young Coriolanus Snow in the film The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, makes his Broadway debut tonight, Thursday 29 October, as LTJG Daniel Kaffee in A Few Good Men. Lincoln Center Theater's production at the Vivian Beaumont Theater is the play's first Broadway revival, and it is booked for 13 weeks only, closing on Sunday 10 January 2027.

Kaffee is the play's central role, the one Tom Cruise took in the 1992 film: a young Navy lawyer better known for settling cases than for fighting them, who is handed the defence of two Marines accused of murder. Blyth carries it opposite Krysta Rodriguez, the Outer Critics Circle Award winner whose Broadway credits include The Addams Family, as LCDR JoAnne Galloway, the attorney who will not let him take the easy deal. Bradley Whitford, the Emmy winner who spent years speaking Sorkin's dialogue as Josh Lyman in The West Wing, plays LtCol Nathan R. Jessep, the commanding officer at the top of the chain the case climbs.

On this side of the Atlantic Blyth is still best known for his screen work, which also includes Benediction, Terence Davies's film about Siegfried Sassoon, in which he played the actor Glen Byam Shaw. The Broadway debut puts him in a part with a London history of its own: the play last ran in the West End in 2005, with Rob Lowe as Kaffee at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. No London dates have been announced for this new production.

Michael Arden, the six-time Tony winner who directed Maybe Happy Ending on Broadway, stages the revival. His design team is Dane Laffrey (set), Alejo Vietti (costumes), Japhy Weideman (lighting), Joshua D. Reid (sound) and Cookie Jordan (hair and wigs), with movement by Ricky Ubeda, original music by Gabriel Mann, voice coaching by Kate Wilson and casting by The Telsey Office. Charles Means is production stage manager.

Around the three leads, Nick Blaemire plays LTJG Sam Weinberg and Michael Oberholtzer plays Capt Jack Ross, with Stephanie Berry (CAPT J. A. Randolph), Michael Braugher (Cpl Jeffrey Howard), Christopher Gurr (CDR Walter Stone), Billy Eugene Jones (CAPT Isaac Whitaker), Collin Kelly-Sordelet (PFC Louden Downey), Shunté Lofton (Orderly), Lavel Schley (LCpl Harold W. Dawson), Thom Sesma (Maj Matthew Markinson), Daniel Velez (PFC William T. Santiago) and John Zdrojeski (1stLt Jonathan Kendrick). Brendan Behm, Alex Ekker, Drew Elhamalawy, Miles Fowler, Quentin Nguyen-duy and Stephen Michael Spencer complete the company as Marines and military personnel, and the understudies are Peter Bradbury, Tim Creavin, Mahira Kakkar and Austin Phillips.

Lincoln Center Theater produces in association with No Guarantees Productions, Tom Kirdahy, Kevin Ryan, Lamar Richardson and Mary Sullivan. Emilio Madrid's photographs catch Blyth in Navy whites beside Rodriguez, and in quieter two-handers on the steps of Laffrey's steel-framed set.
