Stephanie Greenwood and Sean Hart make up the two-person cast of Relative Motion, Greenwood’s new play about coercive control, which runs at Southwark Playhouse Borough from 11 November to 5 December 2026.

Stephanie Greenwood wrote the play and plays Sam, a physics student. Sean Hart plays Paul, an aspiring novelist. They meet by chance on a London commuter train and start a romance. Small compromises and shifts in power follow, and the relationship becomes one of coercive control.
The play uses Isaac Newton’s laws of motion, including momentum, collisions, and action and reaction, as a way of measuring the forces between the pair. It combines romantic comedy, psychological thriller and black comedy.
Greenwood is a British-South African actor and writer. Her stage credits include Frankenstein at Shakespeare Theatre Company and Soldier On at The Other Palace and on UK tour. She also wrote It’s Beautiful, Over There and How Not to Fund a Honeymoon.
Hart returns to Southwark Playhouse, where he appeared in Afterglow in 2019. His stage credits include Titus Andronicus for the RSC. On screen he has appeared in A Small Light (Disney+) and Harlots (Hulu/ITV).
The play is produced by Feuille Dooley Productions with Very Rascals, the company Greenwood founded with Charlotte Keith in 2019.
Performances of Relative Motion at Southwark Playhouse Borough are at 7.30pm, with 3pm matinees on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Tickets start at £22, or £18 for concessions. Previews are £16, and the Pioneers’ Preview on 11 November is £10. Age guidance is 14+.
