The British musical that has been running on Broadway for five years will hold its last Sing-Along performance there on Thursday 29 October, ahead of a New York closing date of 3 January 2027. SIX continues at the Vaudeville Theatre in London.
SIX will stage its Sing-Along performance at the Lena Horne Theatre for the last time on Thursday 29 October at 7pm, with the audience invited to sing the score. The format is being brought back by demand, and the production says this is the final one.
What the date really marks is the end of a long American chapter for a British show. Written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, it opened on Broadway on Sunday 3 October 2021 and plays its final performance there on 3 January 2027.
By then it will be the longest-running show the Lena Horne Theatre has held, the 39th longest-running in Broadway history, and the seventh longest-running Broadway show to have originated in the United Kingdom – the figure that matters most from a London desk, because very few British musicals get near it.
Two members of the original UK company are in the Broadway cast: Natalie Paris plays Jane Seymour and Aimie Atkinson plays Katherine Howard.
They are joined by Khaila Wilcoxon as Catherine of Aragon, Chloe Tucker Caine as Anne Boleyn, Olivia Donalson as Anna of Cleves and Stephanie Jae Park as Catherine Parr. Najah Hetsberger plays Catherine of Aragon from 5 October to 22 November.
The producers are Kenny Wax, Wendy and Andy Barnes, George Stiles and Kevin McCollum. Moss co-directs with Jamie Armitage, with choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille, set by Emma Bailey and costumes by Gabriella Slade.
