ROLEPLAY to transfer to London’s Soho Theatre this autumn

ROLEPLAY Soho Theatre The award-winning producers of Baby Reindeer and Fleabag are bringing ROLEPLAY, Hannah Reilly’s razor-sharp one-woman thriller, to London’s Soho Theatre this autumn following its Edinburgh Fringe premiere.

Francesca Moody Productions and Global Creatures have announced that ROLEPLAY, an unflinching new play about sex, power and the economics of attention, will transfer to London’s Soho Theatre from 22 October to 21 November 2026 following its world premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this summer. Written and performed by Hannah Reilly and directed by Paige Rattray, the production is almost sold out in Edinburgh ahead of opening, and tickets for Soho Theatre are now on sale.

Bold, provocative and darkly funny, ROLEPLAY follows a struggling feminist podcaster who rebrands herself in pursuit of fame, only to lose herself in the performance. A razor-sharp interrogation of modern sex, womanhood and the commodification of feminism in the age of the personal brand, the show taps into one of the most urgent cultural conversations of the moment.

Writer and performer Hannah Reilly is an award-winning creative working across stage and screen, including the hit musical comedy The Deb. Director Paige Rattray’s credits include Fangirls at the Lyric Hammersmith and three years as Director of New Work and Artistic Development at Sydney Theatre Company. The play was originally developed as part of Belvoir Street Theatre’s Up Late Series in Sydney.

The premiere marks a major collaboration between Francesca Moody Productions — known for creating and developing Fringe hits that have become landmark television series such as Fleabag and Baby Reindeer — and Global Creatures, one of the world’s leading theatrical producers, whose shows include the ten-time Tony-winning Moulin Rouge! The Musical and Muriel’s Wedding The Musical.

“I’m honoured to bring ROLEPLAY to Soho Theatre, and am so excited for a wider audience to experience it,” said Hannah Reilly. The production follows in the footsteps of FMP’s Olivier-nominated, Offie-winning Weather Girl, which also transferred from Edinburgh to Soho Theatre before landing a development deal with Netflix and A24.

ROLEPLAY runs at Soho Theatre from 22 October to 21 November 2026, with press night on 26 October. Tickets are from £13. The production is for ages 18+ and carries content warnings for discussions of sexual assault, nudity and explicit language.
