Patti LuPone brings her concert Matters of the Heart to the London Coliseum for two nights, on 14 and 15 February 2027. Tickets go on general sale on 4 September.
Patti LuPone returns to the London Coliseum next winter with Matters of the Heart, playing two performances on Sunday 14 and Monday 15 February 2027, both at 7.30pm. Tickets go on general sale on Friday 4 September.
The dates are Valentine's weekend, which is the point. The concert takes the audience through more than two dozen love songs, drawing on Broadway standards and on contemporary songwriters, and framing them around what the show calls the crimes, affairs and mysteries of the heart.
LuPone said: 'Performing my show "A Life in Notes" at the Coliseum in 2025 was a special night that I remember dearly. I can't wait to come back with "Matters of the Heart," which I first performed at the Donmar Warehouse in 1999. And it's Valentine's Day, Dolls. Will you be my Valentine?'
The show has a long history. It began as a 1999 album, named one of the year's best recordings by The Times and by Time Out in New York, and LuPone first staged it at the Donmar Warehouse that same year before playing the West End and touring. She relaunched it in January 2026 to mark 25 years since the Broadway engagement at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre.
It is conceived and directed by Scott Wittman, with musical direction and arrangements by Joseph Thalken, and features the Four Play String Quartet.
LuPone has three Tony Awards: for Joanne in Marianne Elliott's gender-swapped production of Company, for Madame Rose in the 2008 Broadway revival of Gypsy, and for the title role in the original Broadway production of Evita. Her London stage work includes Company, Master Class, Sunset Boulevard and Les Misérables. She began her concert career in 1980, playing late-night Saturdays at the New York nightclub Les Mouches while appearing in Evita.
Matters of the Heart is presented by Darren Bell Productions and Cuffe & Taylor, with general management by QUBE Theatricals. It plays the London Coliseum on 14 and 15 February 2027, with tickets on general sale from 4 September.
