Flora Montgomery and Oliver Alvin-Wilson lead the company of Ghosts, Richard Eyre's adaptation of Henrik Ibsen, which begins previews at the Jermyn Street Theatre on 8 October.
Flora Montgomery plays Helene Alving in Ghosts at the Jermyn Street Theatre this autumn, with Joe Pitts as her son Oswald. The theatre has announced the full company for Richard Eyre's adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's play.
Oliver Alvin-Wilson, whose stage credits include Dr Strangelove at the Noël Coward Theatre and Nine Night for the National Theatre, takes the role of Pastor Manders. Cecilia Appiah, whose credits include Scandaltown at the Lyric Hammersmith and Great Expectations at the Royal Exchange Theatre, plays Regina Engstrand, and Peter F. Gardiner plays Jacob Engstrand. Montgomery's theatre work includes Under the Black Rock at the Arcola Theatre and Dinner at Wyndham's Theatre; Pitts's includes Spring Awakening at the Almeida Theatre and Blink at the King's Head Theatre.
Directing is Kwame Owusu, the Carne Deputy Director at Jermyn Street Theatre, whose credits include The Bacchae at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre and Dreaming and Drowning at the Bush Theatre, which he also wrote.

Ibsen's drama is set in Norway in 1890. Helene Alving sent her son away from the family home years earlier; his return coincides with the opening of an orphanage built to mark ten years since his father's death, and the secrets the household has kept begin to surface. Richard Eyre's version pushes the play's questions about duty, inheritance and respectability towards the present day.
The design team is Cara Evans (set), Natalie Johnson (costume) and Ben Ormerod (lighting), with composition and sound design by Fran Amewudah-Rivers. Matthew Dewsbury CDG is casting director and Magnús Thorlacius is assistant director.

Previews begin on Thursday 8 October 2026 and the production opens on Wednesday 14 October, with the press performance that evening at 7.30pm. The run ends on Saturday 14 November 2026. Performances are Monday to Saturday at 7.30pm, with 3pm matinees on Tuesdays and Saturdays, at the 70-seat theatre at 16b Jermyn Street in St James's. Tickets start at £20.
