First look images have been released for Theatre Royal Plymouth's new production of Fame The Musical, which runs at the venue until 15 August.
The production stars Shanay Holmes as Miss Sherman, Alasdair Buchan as Mr Sheinkopf, Waylon Jacobs as Mr Myers, Rachel Jayne Picar as Ensemble Teacher and Cover Teacher, and Edwin Ray as Mr Bell and Dance Captain.
They are joined by Joe Boyle as Nick Piazza, Toby De Salis as Goodman "Goody" King, Megan Ellis as Serena Katz, Olivia Foster-Browne as Mabel Washington, James Hastings as Schlomo Metzenbaum, Shoko Ito as Iris Kelly, Amonik Melaco as Tyrone Jackson, Talia Palamathanan as Carmen Diaz, Georgia Leila Stoller as Grace "Lambchops" Lamb and Harrison Wilde as Joe (Jose) Vegas.
The ensemble is completed by Alicia Maynard, Jago Mottart, Anu Ogunmefun, Samantha Shuma and Patrick Wilden, with swings Elise Marnie and Kieron O'Donnell.
Fame The Musical is directed and choreographed by Tom Jackson Greaves, whose credits include Whistle Down the Wind at the Watermill Theatre, Les Liaisons Dangereuses at the National Theatre and The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry at the Theatre Royal Haymarket and Minerva Theatre.
He is joined by set and co-costume designer Soutra Gilmour (Waiting for Godot on Broadway, Evita at the London Palladium, and Much Ado About Nothing, The Tempest and Romeo & Juliet for the Jamie Lloyd Company), co-costume designer Enver Chakartash (Stereophonic on Broadway, A Doll's House, Is This a Room), co-choreographer Tinovimbanashe Sibanda, musical supervisor and musical director George Francis (Hadestown, Amelie), and orchestrator and arranger Matthew Malone.
The creative team is completed by lighting designer Richard Howell (Othello, The Truth, Dr Semmelweis), sound designer Matt Peploe and casting director Stuart Burt CDG CSA (Into the Woods, & Juliet, Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club). Omari Douglas (Cabaret at the Playhouse Theatre, Jesus Christ Superstar at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, It's a Sin, Black Doves) joins the production as Creative Associate, working across the production with Tom Jackson Greaves.
