The first production photos are out for Little Shop of Horrors at the Exeter Northcott Theatre, the first full-scale musical to be produced in Exeter in more than 20 years. It plays the Northcott until 17 October, then visits Poole and Coventry.
Exeter Northcott Theatre has released the first photos from its new staging of Little Shop of Horrors, taken by Craig Fuller. The musical runs at the Northcott until Saturday 17 October 2026. Two more stops follow before the end of the month.
This one is made in Exeter. The Northcott produces it in association with Lighthouse Poole and the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry, and the theatre’s Creative Director, Martin Berry, directs.
Scott McClure plays the luckless florist Seymour and Leigh Quinn is Audrey. Dashaun Vegas takes on the plant, Audrey II. Ross Clifton is the dentist Orin Scrivello, and Andrew Whitehead, who has been in the show before at the Bolton Octagon, plays Mr Mushnik.
Laura Buhagiar (Ronnette), Jodie Micciche (Chiffon) and Jessica Ncube (Crystal) make up the street-corner trio. Joseph Connor and Grace Hull join the ensemble, which also draws on a community company of local performers.
Alan Menken wrote the music, with book and lyrics by Howard Ashman. Seymour works in a struggling Skid Row flower shop. An odd new plant turns his luck around, then reveals what it actually eats.
Berry said: “Sometimes, you simply want people to leave the theatre with huge smiles on their faces, and Little Shop of Horrors does exactly that.”
In Exeter the show runs 125 minutes including an interval, and is recommended for ages 10 and over. Access performances at the Northcott: BSL-interpreted on Tuesday 6 October at 7.30pm; audio-described on Saturday 10 October at 2.30pm, with a touch tour at 1.30pm; captioned that evening at 7.30pm; and a relaxed matinee on Saturday 17 October at 2.30pm. Northcott tickets start at £21.50.
