BalletBoyz have named the eight dancers who will lead Six Lethargies, the world premiere marking the company’s 25th year at Sadler’s Wells this November.
BalletBoyz have named the eight dancers at the centre of Six Lethargies, the world premiere they bring to Sadler’s Wells from 18-21 November 2026. The company around them is considerably bigger.
Leading the piece are Joshua Attwood, Dan Baines, Alex De La Bastide, Paris Fitzpatrick, Dylan Jones, Elisabet Liisu Cerenius, Faye Tan and Kai Tomioka. An ensemble of further performers joins them, and a 37-piece string orchestra plays live on stage alongside the dancing.
The music came first. Keaton Henson, a musician, composer, visual artist and poet who has collaborated with BalletBoyz for years, wrote the string-orchestra composition in 2019. The stage version turns it into an evening that travels through six emotional landscapes, putting trauma and its resolution into bodies, and the question Henson asks of the score is the one the production asks of its audience: “If I write how it feels to me, will you feel it too?”
Artistic directors and BalletBoyz founders Michael Nunn and William Trevitt direct. The choreography is new, by Iván Pérez and Seirian Griffiths, with costume design by Elisa Mozzanica and lighting design by Andrew Ellis.
Nunn and Trevitt said: “Following our anniversary celebrations with Still Pointless, we also wanted to mark our 25th year with a brand-new work for the stage in keeping with the thing that continues to inspire us: commissioning original, ambitious, and thought-provoking creations. Six Lethargies will enable us to do this whilst also exploring and raising awareness of a subject matter that’s close to our hearts: mental health, trauma, and the power of music, movement, and art to serve as a tool for recovery and resolution.”
Henson added: “Six Lethargies is the thing I am most proud of, it was created to explore the physiology of music, how fervently it can manifest in our body and mind. So to me it is a logical next step to reinterpret it and tell a new story using the body itself. Without bias I felt immediately that BalletBoyz were the only company to work with to do this, with their ability to blur the lines between dance, reality and theatre.”
BalletBoyz are a Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist company, and this is an exclusive season at the theatre. Press night is on Wednesday 18 November 2026, the opening night of the run, and tickets are on sale now.
