Beauty and the Beast description
Beauty and the Beast is all very silly, in the best possible way!
Tapping into the nation's love of silly humour, the old fairy story Beauty and the Beast has been given a fresh camp facelift for the festive season. Make your way to the Charing Cross Theatre to laugh your socks off at a fabulously filthy love story.
Horns and horniness are the name of the game in this outrageous musical extravaganza starring two of the best dames in town, Matthew Baldwin (Sleeping Beauty Takes A Prick) and Chris Lane (Ghosted: Another F***ing Christmas Carol). Expect fantastic costumes, vibrant staging and brilliant songs, a riotously funny experience packed with adults-only Christmas pzazz.
The story unfolds in the freezing cold Scottish village of Lickmanochers, where a hairy aristocratic beast imprisons innocent mummy's boy Bertie. When the snow starts to fall Bertie begins to realise the moody beast isn't all bad. And his chaotic castle could, with a decorator's touch, be quite heavenly.
The show is written by Jon Bradfield and Martin Hooper, with songs by Jon Bradfield. It's directed by Andrew Beckett. The Choreographer is Carole Todd, with Musical Director Aaron Clingham, Set Designer David Shields, Costume Designer Robert Draper, Sound Designer Andrew Johnson and Lighting Designer Matt Hockley completing the creative team. It is produced by Oli Sones for the award-winning He’s Behind You! (Sleeping Beauty Takes A Prick, Jack and the Beanstalk: What a Whopper).
Ready, steady, gay! Grab Beauty and the Beast tickets to enjoy a brilliantly rude romantic comedy with a warm heart.
