White Rabbit Red Rabbit description

Walk this way for a unique theatre adventure. White Rabbit Red Rabbit is full of surprises.

Premiering in 2011, White Rabbit Red Rabbit has been seen in thirty languages and staged across the world. Now it's back in London, and as usual nobody knows what's coming next! Lovers of the unpredictable adore Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour's dazzling experiment. This is internationally acclaimed theatre at its very best, returning to the capital for its 15th birthday.

Every night a different performer sees the script for the first time, in front of you on stage. It all kicks off with an envelope containing the script. The actor has to perform the script completely unrehearsed, with no director and no idea what will happen next. The performance is created live, based on the way the actor responds to the script and building a unique experience every time. You'll see what nobody else except your fellow audience members have seen, making this an unrepeatable theatrical treat.

So where did the magic come from? The playwright wrote the work when trapped in his home country, forbidden to leave. It encapsulates the experiences of a generation, something completely original that touches hearts. One moment it's playful, the next it's disturbing, exploring themes of obedience, choice, freedom to express ourselves, power, complicity, and the humanity we share whoever we are and wherever we live.

Already performed more than three thousand times by some of the world's best-loved stars of theatre and film, this time around you can expect a brand new all-star line-up including David Tennant, Kunal Nayyar, Jodie Whittaker, Luke Thompson, David Harewood, Riz Ahmed, and Kathryn Hunter - to name just a few.

White Rabbit Red Rabbit tickets deliver a unique experience you've never seen before and won't see again. Fresh, exciting, moving and unforgettable... every time.
