Starring: Vincent Simone, Flavia Cacace
Strictly Come Dancing's Argentine darlings Flavia Cacace and Vincent Simone are set to open a show you'll never forget, the wonderful Last Tango. It's the latest in a string of hits starring the supremely talented couple, whose previous dance extravaganzas Midnight Tango and Dance ‘Til Dawn rocked the West End. And it's in town after a 33 week tour of Britain, where it won hearts and minds across the nation.
The story stars George, who explores his wonderful memories of life and love through dance: the rousing rumba, vivid jive, flamboyant flamenco, sinuous salsa and – of course – the precise, incredibly sexy and dramatic tango. The music is performed by an exceptional live band and the show's director, the Olivier Award-winning choreographer and director Karen Bruce, adds that uniquely special flavour unique to all her magical productions. Adam Spiegel Productions produces the spectacle, having scored huge hits with Motown, The Producers and Dance ‘Til Dawn, and the show replaces Guys and Dolls at the Phoenix.
What do the stars of the show say? Flavia Cacace described it as intimate and emotional, and by all accounts she's really excited about celebrating her and Vincents' finest work in the West End. Vincent Simone agrees – this is probably the couple's final show, but what a high to end on. They're going out with a bang, an event you won't want to miss.
A full ensemble cast, live music and two decades of dance partnership promise great things, thanks to a talented couple who have delighted millions of us over the years and inspired thousands of people around the world to learn ballroom dancing. As stylish, good looking World Dance title-holders who create and star in their own West End productions, it's going to be sad to say goodbye... but what a finale!
As you'd expect, sparkling, intricate choreography rules the day, performed by a couple of incredibly lithe and flexible human beings whose every graceful movement is fluidly, enviably lovely. Add musical arrangements and orchestration by Chris Egan and Matt Smith, set design by Morgan Large, costume design by Vicky Gill, lighting design by James Whiteside and sound design by Richard Brooker and it's another fine ballroom dance legend in the making.
This is your last chance to see this well-loved and highly respected couple doing their awesomely clever thing on stage. Make the most of it with great value tickets and exceptional service.
