So Are We: León & Lightfoot - Royal Ballet and Opera description
Experience two sublime works of passion and yearning with So We Are: León and Lightfoot.
Two gorgeous Company premieres by the Spanish/British choreographers Sol León and Paul Lightfoot illuminate the ROH with So Are We: León and Lightfoot. This high-octane mixed programme marks the first time a UK company has performed their work, a real contemporary choreographic treat. The darlings of Nederlands Dans Theater, the pair created more than fifty 50 productions for the Dutch company over the 18 years they worked as house choreographers.
This is the first time these two works have been presented as a duo. The first work, Shoot the Moon, now twenty years old, explores the loneliness inside relationships, scored by Philip Glass's cracking Tirol Concerto. The second, Salle de Dance, is a passionate homage to ballet originally choreographed as a movie by Lightfoot during the pandemic, and a fresh score by Ilya Demutsky accompanies the action.
The cast of Shoot The Moon might vary. The creative team includes Designs by León and Lightfoot, and Lighting Design from Tom Bevoort. Salle de Danse comes with lush Design and Lighting Design by León and Lightfoot, clearly a multi-talented creative powerhouse.
So Are We: León and Lightfoot tickets let you experience two stunning works set like jewels on the stage of a world-class venue. Not to be missed.
