Welcome to the world-premiere of a dazzling and disturbing new queer play, Remembrance Monday, on stage at Seven Dials Playhouse in London. It comes from the acclaimed playwright Michael Batten, billed as a haunting thriller.

Terrifying truths... revealed

On stage for a limited six week run, the cast features Nick Hayes and Matthew Stathers, both of whom have delighted audiences on stage, TV and the big screen. They play Julius and Connor, the perfect couple with everything: gorgeous bodies, great jobs and a stunning apartment. But when Julius is tormented by strange memories from one particular Monday night, reality distorts to reveal some terrifying truths.

Matthew Stathers, who plays Connor, was the Stalker in The Bodyguard’s West End and UK Tour, with TV credits including Channel 4’s Hullraisers, Meet The Richardsons on UKTV, and Harlots 3 on Hulu. He has appeared in Doctors, Holby City, Coronation Street, Rhinestone Cowboys, Sink or Swim-Coming Up, and Threesome. His movie credits include the lead role of Joe Ridley in Hi-Lo Joe, and Dan in Young, High & Dead as well as Hot Lips in Knuckledust.

Nick Hayes plays Julius. He recently played Ralph in Groundhog Day at The Old Vic and has loads more theatre credits including the role of Mitchell in The Little Dog Laughed Irish premiere. He played Adam/Felicia in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert’s UK tour, Ren in the West End’s Footloose, and Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever (West End). His TV and film credits include the role of Julian Abbington in The Space You Need, Orson Buxton in Hollyoaks: In The City and Tom Portman in Doctors. He starred in the multi-award winning short film The Definition of Lonely, awarded Best Actor Kino Shorts.

An impressive team

Michael Batten is an actor, dancer and playwright whose self penned one man play Self Tape - in which he also starred - won an OFFIE nomination for Best Solo Performance. His other plays include Tickety Boo and Finding Mum.

The Director is Alan Souza, Set Designer , Andrew Exeter Lighting Designer Jack Weir, Sound Designer Sarah Weltman and Movement Director Dianté Lodge. The Casting comes from Pearson Casting CDG.
