Once On This Island description

Once on This Island in concert is in the capital for one night only.

Described as dazzling, Once on This Island lands in London to celebrate passion, sacrifice and community. The magic unfolds on stage at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane and as you can imagine, we predict a sell-out. This sweeping show is vibrant and heart-stirring, life affirming and unique. It's written by the Tony and Olivier-winning team Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, a truly electrifying experience packed with vivid Caribbean colour, the irresistible rhythms of the heart, and the power of folklore.

You'll meet young Ti Moune, a fearless and optimistic girl who saves Daniel's life then falls in love with him, even though his culture couldn't be more different from hers and he's from a completely different world. Will she dodge destiny when she makes a bold promise to please the island gods?

The show's Director is Annabel Mutale-Reed. The Musical Director and Conductor is Jordan Li-Smith, the Choreographer is Sarah Golding, and the Sound Designer is Harry Greatorex. The creative team is completed by Casting Direction from Ben Armstrong Casting, and the live music is provided by the brilliant London Musical Theatre Orchestra.

A star-studded cast includes Tony Award winner Alex Newell (Shucked, Chicago) reprising their role as Asaka, with Cedric Neal (Guys & Dolls, Hadestown) playing Agwe. WhatsOnStage Award winner Melanie La Barrie, whose work on &Juliet and Wicked delighted us, plays Papa Ge, and Dujonna Gift of Hamilton, Two Strangers, and Carry a Cake Across New York fame plays Ti Moune. We also have Wendy Mae Brown as Mama Euralie, Ako Mitchell as Tonton Julian, Jamael Westman as Danielle Beauxhomme, Casey Al-Shaqsy as Andrea Deveraux, Waylon Jacobs as Armand Beauxhomme, and an ensemble team made up of Jerome Lincoln, Elliot Broadfoot, Tamara Tare and Lindo Shinda.

Your Once on This Island tickets deliver you to a unique concert experience on stage for just one wonderful night. Don't miss it.
