Perform Productions' gorgeous Midnight in the Toyshop hits the West End for spring, a lovely miniature musical for children. On stage for a limited run, it is great fun for the whole family.
As the clock strikes twelve midnight, the toys in the magical toyshop come alive to set off on a grand adventure. The horrid 'tech bro' entrepreneur Peyton Pixel wants to tear the toyshop down to build a high tech AI experience, and the toys must prove children still want them. Luckily the feisty Belle Ballerina, high-energy Rebel Racer, and a cake-fuelled dinosaur called Grumble are mounting a thrilling mission to save their beloved home before morning. The lesson? Technology is brilliant, but at the end of the day real-life friendships matter much more.
Perform Productions gave us the wonderful Jungle Rumble and Magical Merlin, both hits in the West End. Lucy Quick and Will Barnett are the founders of a hugely popular drama school for 4 – 12 year-olds, and they know exactly what makes kids tick.
