Man to Man description
Man to Man stars Tilda Swinton, part of The Royal Court Theatre's 70th anniversary.
Oscar and BAFTA-winning Tilda Swinton (We Need to Talk About Kevin, Orlando) is reprising her role in Manfred Karge's brilliantly raw play Man to Man, more than three decades since she starred in the show's acclaimed 1988 UK premiere at The Royal Court.
The story unfolds in 1930s Germany, where a desperate woman puts her dead husband's trousers on and never takes them off. As the world changes, she battles to survive the horrors of war, dictatorship, hunger and humiliation.
Tilda Swinton's film roles include Michael Clayton, for which she won an Academy Award and a BAFTA, The Deep End, A Bigger Splash, Burn After Reading, Three Thousand Years of Longing, The End, and The Room Next Door. On stage, she has wowed critics and audiences with a huge repertoire, including Cloakroom, The Long Way Round, Mozart and Salieri, Die Maßnahme, The Tourist Guide, and White Rose.
The production's multi-award-winning creative team also reunites, with director Stephen Unwin (The Conquest of the South Pole), designer Bunny Christie (People, Places and Things), and lighting expert Ben Ormerod.
Powerful and disturbing, deep and dark, Man to Man tickets deliver something extra-special with Tilda Swinton at her finest.
