Award-winning Wigan theatre company ThickSkin returns to the capital after a sold-out tour with a frightening new play from Bruntwood Prize-winning writer Tim Foley.
When out-of-work actor Joe says yes to a role playing a ghost at a remote country manor, he thinks it's going to be a simple matter of scaring the visitors. Maybe a few eerie 'whooos' here and there. But as time passes and he performs night after night, he starts to lose his grip on reality. Then something a lot more sinister creeps out of the woodwork. Dark humour and surprising twists are the name of the game with this immersive play whose inventive staging, atmospheric sound and bold visual effects combine to create an edge-of-your-seat experience.
Oliver Baines (The House Party, Othello) plays The Dancer. His work has been praised for its depth and impact, a valuable contribution to contemporary theatre. Joe is played by George Naylor. Naylor has a diverse voice acting, TV and theatre career, including stage roles in the West End's The Mousetrap, Wendy & Peter in Edinburgh, One Man Two Guvnors at the Torch Theatre and Body & Sold at Park Theatre.
Writer Tim Foley is joined by Neil Bettles, the show's Director. Pete Malkin does the Sound and Joshua Pharo is the Videography and Lighting Designer. Neil Bettles and Tom Robbins created the Set Design. Madi Omatseone the Design Associate (Costume), Anna Berentzen Associate Director, Kieran Lucas Sound Associate, Brendan Macdonald Dramaturg and Claire Bleasdale Casting Director complete the creative team.
