Hot Mess: A New Musical description

Planet Earth stars in Hot Mess - A New Musical with Danielle Steers and Tobias Turley.

This quirky musical reimagines the relationship between Earth and people, following our home planet's search for love and its toxic relationship with humanity.

Earth spent billions of years alone. Then along came humans and the loneliness finally ended. So begins the love story between people and the planet that sustains us. But as we all know, what started off as a passionate affair soon turned into a hot mess! This gorgeous planet-sized romcom-gone-wrong is set to light up the capital with its funny, wonderfully engaging take on the climate crisis.

The show was originally included in 2025's Pleasance Theatre Edinburgh Fringe line-up. It is brought to London by 24 Balloons'Jack Godfrey and Ellie Coote. Coote, who also wrote the lyrics, directs, and the score comes from Jack Godfrey. Starring Danielle Steers (SIX The Musical, The Cher Show) and Tobias Turley (Mamma Mia!) as the cosmic couple, the themes are love, loss, and what happens when the Universe's favourite lovers fall out.

Tony and Grammy nominated Paul Gatehouse is the Sound Designer. Joe Beighton is the Musical Supervisor and Co-orchestrator and Alexzandra Sarmiento is the Movement Director. Shankho Chaudhuri is the Set and Costume Designer, Ryan Joseph Stafford is the Lighting Designer, Issie Osborne is the Musical Director, Deirdre O'Halloran is Dramaturg and Lex Kaby is the Intimacy Director. The show is cast by Pearson Casting CDG.

Hot Mess Musical uniquely tells our planet's story, full of humour and stacked with great music.
