High Society description
The beloved Cole Porter musical High Society has been revived for 2026!
Based on the gorgeous 1956 movie starring Grace Kelly, Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra, and the classic play The Philadelphia Story by Philip Barry, High Society hits London's Barbican Theatre for a short run. The show stars Helen George as the glamorous social butterfly Tracy Lord, and living legend Felicity Kendal as her mum, Mother Lord.
Tracy is getting ready for her massive Long Island society wedding when her ex-husband turns up out of the blue. Her plans soon descend into chaos as a sharp-eyed paparazzi tabloid reporter looks for a story, old flames collide, and new relationships make everything increasingly complicated. Who will Tracy give her heart to, and will she manage to follow where her heart's taking her? Iconic show tunes including Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, I love Paris, Just One of Those Things and True Love make it a night to remember.
This is a fresh new West End revival of a beloved musical stacked with Golden Age glamour. The music is played by a full orchestra, there's a cast of twenty eight on board, and the show's famous wit, romance, and fun will seduce you every step of the way.
Helen George has delighted us in Call the Midwife and The King and I. Felicity Kendal has decades of wonderful acting behind her, including TV's The Good Life, and Anything Goes. The show comes with direction from Rachel Kavanaugh, choreography by Anthony Van Laast, and musical supervision by Stephen Ridley. Music and lyrics by Cole Porter, a book by Arthur Kopit, and additional lyrics by Susan Birkenhead help make this a dazzling celebration of love, laughter, and life's complexity.
A luscious blend of comedy, romance, wit and elegance makes High Society tickets a timeless treat for everyone who loves a top class West End musical extravaganza.
