FLYBY description
Fancy a brand new musical? Make it FLYBY, written by the brilliant Theo Jamieson.
Directed and created with Adam Lenson, FLYBY was first developed in 2025 by the National Theatre. The result is a beautifully captivating musical blending a thrilling love story with the vast, empty enormity of outer space.
The story goes like this. Daniel is an astronaut. He steals a spaceship and disappears into space, leaving the fiercely bright documentary film maker Emily and their fiery relationship behind. Why did he flee? The reasons are revealed through flashbacks and space logs, telling a love story with a difference that moves between past and future, now and then. Daniel's emotional collapse, Emily's struggle to define herself, it's a brilliant exploration of talent, ambition, moral ambiguity, the power of desire, fatal attraction, and our deep, fundamental need to feel alive.
The fun stars Poppy Gilbert (TV's My Oxford Year and The Other Bennett Sister, Sherwood, The Catch), Stuart Thompson (TV's SAS: Rogue Heroes plus, on stage, Radiant Boy), Gina Beck (Guys & Dolls, Wicked), Rupert Young (Dear Evan Hansen, TV's Bridgerton) and Simbi Akande who wowed audiences in Hamilton and Light in the Piazza. The musical is directed and created with Adam Lenson (Cable Street), and this is its world premiere.
You only have a limited run of six weeks to catch this extraordinary musical, so make sure you grab FLYBY tickets early.
