Father Christmas Needs a Wee! is a family musical about Father Christmas, a night of deliveries and one very urgent problem.
On Christmas Eve, Father Christmas sets off on his rounds. At every house he eats and drinks the treats that have been left out for him. By the time he reaches number ten, he realises that he has forgotten to do something rather important, and he really, really, really needs a wee. With presents still to deliver, he has to keep going.
The show is a musical adaptation of the picture book of the same name by Nicholas Allan, a counting story in which the treats add up from one house to the next. The stage version tells the story with songs and is suitable for all ages. It runs for about 1 hour 30 minutes, including an interval, and plays at The Arts at Marble Arch over the Christmas season.
The production is by TaleGate Theatre Productions, a family theatre company based near Doncaster that makes pantomimes, children's musicals and shows for schools. TaleGate has brought other books by Nicholas Allan to the stage, including The Giant's Loo Roll, The Queen's Knickers and Father Christmas Comes Up Trumps, the sequel to this story.
