Derren Brown: Only Human description
Derren Brown: Only Human is the new live show from Derren Brown, combining mind-reading, psychological illusion and storytelling in a strictly limited season at the Apollo Theatre.
In Only Human, Brown explores what it means to be human: our perceptions, our beliefs, and the fragile line between reality and illusion. The show mixes demonstrations of mind-reading and psychological illusion with storytelling that is deeply personal to Brown.
The production is brand new and comes to the West End following a sold-out tour of the UK and Ireland, where critics responded warmly. Liverpool Theatres gave it five stars, writing that "watching him live should be on everyone's bucket list", and Manchester Theatres, also with five stars, said that "even if you've seen Derren Brown before, it still feels fresh and new and exciting". Secret Stage Reviews described "a live investigation of free will and prediction, delivered with the snap of standup and the tension of a Hitchcock thriller", the Yorkshire Times called it "simply breathtaking", and Kent Live reported a standing ovation and a mood in the theatre "unlike anything I have experienced".
Derren Brown is a multi-award-winning showman whose live shows are built around mind-reading and psychological illusion. Only Human is his latest, and I Love Manchester wrote that with it "he proves he's still at the very top of his game".
The show is not suitable for children under 12.
