Most people only know two things about Werner Heisenberg. One, the Uncertainty Principle. Two, his mysterious visit to see fellow physicist Niels Bohr in Copenhagen during 1941. Michael Frayn's multi-award-winning Copenhagen is directed by Michael Longhurst (Between Riverside and Crazy, Caroline or Change, Gloria), in the capital for the first time since its 1998 London premiere at the National Theatre.

The story goes like this. During World War Two the German physicist Werner Heisenberg visited Danish physicist and old friend Niels Bohr in Copenhagen, which was occupied by the Nazis at the time. In the 1920s they'd collaborated on legendary investigations into the atom. Now life for both of them is a lot more dangerous. Heisenberg left the visit with a terrible secret, something historians have been baffled by ever since. This multi-award-winning drama brings the men back together, with Bohr's wife Margrethe, to investigate the uncertainty of the human mind.

Already a modern classic, this revival is a completely new production. It stars award-winners Alex Kingston (ER, Doctor Who) as Margrethe, Damien Molony (Being Human, Brassic) as Heisenberg, and Richard Schiff (The West Wing, The Good Doctor) as Bohr, an all-star cast for this ingenious drama. The Designer is Joanna Scotcher, the Lighting Designer is Neil Austin, and the Casting Director is Jim Carnahan CSA.
