Clarkston description
There's a new play by Samuel D. Hunter in the capital. Don't miss Clarkston.
Clarkston stars Joe Locke (Heartstopper, The Trials, Sweeney Todd, Agatha All Along), Ruaridh Mollica (Sebastian, The Franchise) and Sophie Melville (The Way, Iphigenia in Splott). This is Joe Locke's West End debut, and the show is on stage for a nine-week run at London's Trafalgar Theatre.
Set in small-town America, this beautifully-written, intimate play tells the story of Jake and Chris. Jake is heading west into an uncertain future, wanting to rediscover himself. Chris is working nights at a supermarket, head down, just getting on with life. When they meet, they discover a deep mutual longing for a different future. Exploring the nature of friendship, identity and the quiet hope we feel when we find we can start again, this subtle story will warm your heart.
The playwright is Samuel D Hunter, an American probably best known in the UK for his screenplay for Darren Aronofsky's Oscar-nominated film, The Whale. It's directed by New York's Jack Serio with Set and Costume Design by Milla Clarke, Lighting Design by Stacey Derosier and Sound Design from George Dennis. Dramaturg John Baker and Casting Director Stuart Burt complete the creative team, with Craig Balsam, Patrick Catullo and Daniel Neale also on the producing team.
An all-star cast, a playwright who's well on his way to legendary status and a charming story make Clarkston tickets hot property.
