Cinderella (Lyric Hammersmith) description
We all know the story of Cinderella, the perfect festive panto treat!
Bring on the music, mix it with plenty of fun and you get the latest production of Cinderella, a panto full of pure family magic. The perfect festive season theatre treat, it's stacked with show-stopper tunes and hilarious comedy, with lots of added 'wow' courtesy of the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre's famous unexpected twist.
French author Charles Perrault wrote the original story way back in 1697. Almost 230 years later it is just as popular. This time around you'll enjoy a fresh new take on the classic fairytale, written by Joel Horwood who gave us The Ocean at the End of the Lane and I Want My Hat Back. He returns to the venue for the first time since his acclaimed production of Aladdin delighted audiences. It's directed by Robin Belfield (Princess Essex, Anansi The Spider), another sign there's some serious fun on the way!
Her mean step-sisters treat Cinders like a servant. She's dreaming about a better life somewhere far away from them and her wicked stepmother. Then a magical invitation to the royal ball drops onto the doormat and everything finally starts to change as Cinderella's Fairy Godmother sends her off on an amazing adventure where laughter, romance and festive spirits are the name of the game. When the clock strikes midnight, will her dreams disappear like smoke?
Buy Cinderella tickets to experience one of London's best-loved annual pantomimes for yourself. There's always a dazzling celebrity cast and the event is incredibly popular, so we recommend booking your seats early.
