Already Perfect comes from the hugely talented Tony Award winner Levi Kreis.
Anyone who has dared to explore their 'self' will respond to this brilliant production, in which US actor and singer Levi Kreis confronts the child he left behind. His 'searing and uplifting' new musical, Already Perfect, is set to make quite an impact.
In 2005 Kreis's debut album, One of the Ones, caused a stir. He appeared on a Sirius XM's edition of The Apprentice where the teams were challenged to write, record, produce and package an artist for XM Cafe. Kreis and his team won, and the song I Should Go ended up in an episode of Days of Our Lives. Then Hardly A Hero was featured in an episode of Young And The Restless. In 2021 Kreis won a Tony for his role as Jerry Lee Lewis in Million Dollar Quartet, a masterpiece of a performance.
The plot goes like this. Just as Levi's Broadway show is about to be filmed for the archives, he falls apart. He's tempted to end it all when his sponsor interrupts, a catalyst for theatrical magic as Levi's brash young self emerges. As past and present collide and the three men take on dozens of characters, the powerful score takes us through gospel to ballad and back, enhancing a brutally honest yet hopeful story. Exploring what it takes to come to terms with the past, it is full of warm humour, gorgeous music and bold truth. As it turns out there's no need to worry. You're already perfect.
The Book, Music and Lyrics are by Levi Kreis, with Additional Book from Dave Solomon who also directs. The Music Supervision, Arrangements and Orchestrations are by Matthew Antonio Perri, the Sound Designer is Jessica Paz and the Set Designer is Jason Ardizzone-West. The Costume Designer is Jason Antone and the Casting Director is Will Burton for Grindrod Burton. Producer Larry Lelli is joined by Executive Producer and General Manager Katy Lipson from Aria Entertainment.
