A World Elsewhere description
Catch a brand new children's play, A World Elsewhere, at the Globe Theatre.
On stage at The Globe's Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, A World Elsewhere is directed by the Globe Director of Education Lucy Cuthbertson (Rough Magic, The Epic Adventures of Robin Hood and Red Riding versus The Wolf, Midsummer Mechanicals). The magic is co-produced with Splendid Productions, a treat for the summer holidays.
This lovely family play follows a boy called Cass whose imagination and the imaginary friends he dreams up are inspired by his beloved granny's love of Shakespeare. But the Bard's stories start to lose their spark, and their light begins to fade. When the gap between fantasy and reality starts to blur, Cass faces a new challenge: how to bring his imagination back to life.
A gorgeous celebration of the magical world of storytelling, it's packed with wonderful music, filled with laughs, and rich in imagination. Directed by Sean Holmes, it features the Olivier-nominated team Kerry Frampton and Ben Hales, who wrote the show and also gave us Midsummer Mechanicals. The Designer is Rose Revitt (A Christmas Carol, Peter Pan), and the intimate candlelit venue adds extra sparkle to the experience.
