The Artist - Live in Concert description

Two years after it charmed the world with its nostalgic look at the golden days of the Hollywood silent film, five-times Oscar-winning movie The Artist now comes to the Royal Albert Hall for an exclusive UK premiere, with its score performed live by the London Symphony Orchestra.

The LSO, with composer-pianist Ludovic Bource and conductor Ernst Van Tiel, bring this gorgeous monochrome modern classic to life, playing synchronously with a high-definition screening of the film. Counting Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Score among its quintet of Academy Awards, an already wonderful film experience will here transcend to the sublime.

Written and directed by Michel Hazanavicius, scored by Ludovic Bource and starring Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo, the film takes place in Hollywood between 1927 and 1932.

It focuses on the relationship between an older silent film star and a rising young actress, as silent cinema falls out of fashion and is replaced by the talkies.
