Another tick off my West End bucket list by Hayley

So glad I got to see this phenomenal show before it leaves the West End. The young boys and girls are so talented and breath taking to watch to see such rare and beautiful talent. The adults were just as fantastic with their brilliant dancing and quick witt keeping the audience entertained throughout. A must see experience. True to the lovable film and a great day out in London all round. Thank you for your performance guys!

Good all-round entertainment by Catherine

It helps if you know in advance a bit about the politics behind the story. Also, for the actors to be in character, they had to use Durham dialect which confused my granddaughter a bit although did not spoil the show.

by Lee

It was a great show wud see it again

Amazing talent by Helen

It was a true reflection of the times although there was a lot of swearing it fitted the story well the children were amazing so talented and some so young had a wonderful eve seats were amazing best to go in the week for good value on the seats

Fantastic Present by Jasmine

Amazing cast, especially all the little ones! Not advisable for younger viewers as lots of bad language but such an amazing time, bought tickets for my mum and me as her birthday present, we were up at the top and I was worried about not being able to see but was defiantly not a problem.

Brilliant! by Julie

We absolutely loved the show - However if you have seen the film and think its going to be the same, it is not!. My husband was upset there wasn't any TRex tracks on there as the film. But we thoroughly enjoyed it anyway

A must see! by anne-marie

A brilliant show, entertaining but also moving. We really enjoyed the story intermingling a strong social context with the more personal quest of a motherless young boy. Billy's dancing scene about his frustration and anger was particularly amazing!

Excellent! by Alison

A superb show. A beautiful depiction of a tough time is history balanced with humour in just the right places.

Most fantastic show - full of energy by Desmond

The best show I have seen for a long time. Fabulous, amazing talent from all the cast, but particularly from Billy who stole the show! So proud to be British!

by Amanda

Never fails to give me goose bumps and tears

Why have we taken so long to see this show? by Anne

Loved the film and have finally made it to this 5-star show. All I can say is - Billy, wow, what talent! - Only marred by a bit too much unnecessary swearing.

enjoing by Tama

I enjoged very very much!

A little disappointed! by Alison

A huge amount of bad language especially in front of the younger actors. A disappointing ending, I expected Billy to grow and show his Dad/Brother in the final scene as the Black Swan (older actor/ballet dancer was on stage previously so could have been done) We love to boogie was amended for another tune - what a shame. The teachers accent kept changing - needed some perfecting. Younger actors were amazing including Billy - fabulous skills and very talented. Dad/Brother as actors were very good also and Nan was funny. Some scenes were confusing after watching the films. The miners and the younger ballet dancers on stage together. The miners and Billys mum were great too in terms of acting, singing and dancing. Overall it was ok but a lot of money to be slightly disappointed

Best show money can buy by Solomon

Only problem I had was the bloke that was in front of me was too tall for me to see over. Kids can get cousins, but the management (not the people usering and selling programs) changed my seat and I got to see the show much better. Do this before the show,

Entertaining

It is a fabulous show for the family, it is a true story which captured the audience.

A very enjoyable show by linda

Enjoyed this show and would recommend for older teenagers and adults, too much bad language for youngsters.

slow storyline by trev

Got bored and almost fell asleep at times as storyline was a bit slow

An Excellent Show for those who understand the history of the 1970-80 period by George

This was an excellent show for those who understand the political ramifications of the 1970-80s. You also need to understand the dialect of County Durham. A French couple next to us left at the interval and I feel sure it was because they didn't understand what was being said. The story line is superb as is the acting, however the singing of some of the cast including Billy was not the greatest.

by Ann

Absolute brilliant performance, Billy was excellent, reduced me to tears at one point.

Review of Billy E by Sally

Excellent show for all ages. You won't be dissapointed

best in town by grs

simply the best musical in London. Have seen it 4 times and will be going again

Billy Elliot: Amazing show by Daniel

The show was absolutely amazing from start to finish and the storyline almost followed the film. An amazing piece of history from the 1980's too. I would not recommend it to children under 12 due to swearing, sexual and homophobic references; however, these were in context for the play.

by Catherine

Inspirational. Loved the dancing. A great show.

Beyond Exceptional by Laine

On our anniversary weekend we went to see Billy Elliott. My husband is a Geordie and was a young man when the strike happened, so o thought he could relate to it. To say he was apprehensive was an understatement. They wouldn't get the accent right, the atmosphere would be wrong, how could they know what it was really like? Well. It was poignant, funny and very very real. I laughed and cried all the way through it. And the husband? At the end of the show the only critics he had was that they were too clean and tidy!

Brilliant day out by Alison Davies

Great show funny and sad very well told piece of northern history

hugely talented kids by gill

the show had some really talented kids in it, particularly the boys who played Billy and Michael.

Disappointed by Lyndsay

I did not expect so much bad language to be used by the children and the costumes were depressing.BIlly Elliot actor was brilliant. Also disappointed that there was not a dance routine for Swan Lake a the end

by Rebecca

The show was amazing and Eilott Hanna was unbelievably good, very moving performance and I want to go again!!

an excellent show by ESRA

It must be watched.

Well performed musical by Dave

Billy - performance by this young man was excellent, a star in the making. We were made aware of the bad language used during the show, although not to our liking, did not mar our enjoyment of a well performed musical.

great by Brian

not to be missed must see show

by Barbara

Loved this show for the spectacular dancing, particularly by the child stars!

Showtime by Sally

We loved the show. Only bad point, we paid for good seats, dress circle, row E, but there was no leg room. Lucky for us there were quite a few empty seats so we just moved ourselves. Apart from this the show was brilliant and would definitely recommend.

Billy Elliot 2012 by Jill

I attended the show while on vacation with my mother and sisters. Being more accustomed to US entertainment, we thoroughly enjoyed the British humor. I'd have to say the story was captivating, and the dancing phenomenal. Also, the venue was beautiful and conveniently located. Excellent show!
