Before he was an Emmy-winning TV actor, Mandy Patinkin was already a Broadway star. winning a Tony Award for his performance as Che in the Broadway production of Evita (1979) and receiving a Tony nomination for Sondheim's Sunday in the Park with George (1984). In 1989, he starred in his first solo show Mandy Patinkin in Concert: Dress Casual.
